A stark dichotomy with historical roots, as the east was ruled by Russia or Austria until 1918 and the west was ruled by Germany until 1918 or 1945. For example, if a party won a district with 24%, the district is coloured with the 20-30% colour.&lt;br /&gt;The third map shows the combined strength of the left block (ABFØ) and the right bloc (VOCIK) by district.
